It seems to me like napoleans army had a lot of specialty groups. I think that having his armies able to operate on thier own and always be withen a days march of each other was a good way to make sure that they could always work together and keep communications strong. It seems like the only problem he had was supplieing his vast army with the neccesary supplies.
Although it would be hard to be in Napoleon's Army it seems that because of his strict actions it seems that his men really respect him and want to fight for him. It seems like it would be physically hard but emotionally the troops would be completely behind him.
The description of Napoleon's army doesn't really surprise me, but i never really took the time to consider how exactly they were able to accomplish so much so quickly. It makes sense that there would have to be very strict rules, and a high level of respect for Napoleon himself.
Also, i never considered that so many men would not only be extremely effective on the battle field, but that they would require quite a lot in terms of supplies and food. It is interesting that they relied so much on not only the supplies, but also the men of the places they overcame.
Napoleons army was huge. It was an elite group that went well together. Well disiplined they could be an extremely effective force. The rules were extremely strict which furthened there disipline. No wonder they almost conquered the world.
